Tango on Maui
Contact Us

"Tango can be danced in a thousand different ways, but lets step on the ground first, because that is where the energy comes from. Therefore this is where we ought to dance to the music. Without the music there is no dance, no tango, no teacher, no student. A true teacher can only transmit the teaching the music has left him.

Beginning and Back to the Basics
The purpose of the Beginning and Back to Basics class is to strengthen and deepen the foundational elements of Tango. It is for absolute beginners as well as for intermediate and advanced levels who want to clean up their technique assisted by our skilled instructors.
Intermediate levels and for beginners ready to expand their skills This level takes you beyond the basic elements of the dance with more complex patterning which incorporate more advanced elements. Great for students who already understand the basics of Argentine Tango and are comfortable with improvisation.
Advanced: This level will include the most advanced elements of Argentine tango which are technically more challenging. Students should have at least a solid intermediate level of dancing as a prerequisite for this level.
All level: These classes can be taken by everybody and are level independant, meaning there is value to be had no matter what leve you are at
Important consideration with regard to shoes
Please follow these guidelines:
Best would be - if you have them - to wear dance shoes with suede soles.
A second option is a smooth rubber sole or leather, but make sure these shoes are dedicated only to dancing and you don't use them to walk outdoor on the street. If you did use them previously outdoor, clean the soles with a scrubby sponge and remove any roughness and dirt and stop using them outdoor for the time being.
